TIA-Queensland Node

As a result of THD Super Science funding, the Queensland node of TIA has been established as a Facilitated Product Development Pathway, involving the following institutions:

•    UQ Diamantina Institute
•    UQ Centre for Integrated Preclinical Drug Development (TetraQ)
•    Queensland University of Technology's Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation (IHBI)
•    UQ Centre for Clinical Research (UQCCR)
•    QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, Clinical Trials and Biostatistics Unit

The Queensland node aims to:
•    provide efficient, transparent and accessible linkages between fundamental biomedical discovery and clinical trials
•    enable the establishment of high throughput and accessible protocols for preclinical testing, including pharmacodynamics and pharmacogenomics
•    enable capacity building in design and conduct of early and late phase clinical trials to international standard and in clinical data management to conform to regulatory standings.

The Quality Factor

The facilities of the TIA-QLD Node comply with the requirements of the relevant regulatory authorities (e.g. FDA, TGA) to ensure that data generated is of the highest quality and acceptable for inclusion in submissions to regulatory agencies. This high level of technical competence and regulatory compliance is accessible to public sector researchers at subsidised rates of access.
